Discover scuba diving will let you experience the basic skills of scuba diving in the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. There aren’t many dives around the world that will guarantee you sightings of over 300 sharks and rays all at once. But the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo can. Take the plunge and come face to face with 700 pounds of lean muscle, 300 razor sharp teeth and 105 million year’s worth of evolution. These sharks are waiting for you. It’s perfectly safe, and it’s definitely breath taking. The Aquarium is the largest suspended aquarium in the world with a capacity of 10 million litres of salt water and houses one of the most diverse collections of sharks. There are over 420 sharks and rays in the tank, including the world’s biggest collection of sand tiger sharks. Other shark species include black-tip and white-tip reef sharks, zebra sharks, wobbegongs, grey reef sharks and nurse sharks. There are also many ray species in the Aquarium including cow-nose rays, fan-tails, eagle rays, leopard rays, shave-nose rays and bowmouth guitarfish.

Know Before You Go
Kindly note that the experience and timings are subject to availability and tailored for first-time and non-certified divers. Participants must be in good health without lung, sinus, or heart issues and arrive at least two hours prior to the booking. Due to the nature of the activity, advance booking of 2 to 3 days is necessary, along with completion of a medical statement. Introduction to scuba diving commences daily at 11:00 am, supervised by our PADI Instructors. Dives are scheduled at 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. Please arrive two hours before your session at the entrance to the Underwater Zoo on the 2nd floor. Following a brief presentation and theory session, you'll be ready for your first dive on our training platform before exploring the 10 million liter Aquarium. Dive duration is 20-30 minutes, with water temperature set at 23°C. Timings may change without notice.
Upon completion, participants receive a certificate of participation, though it does not qualify as a diver's license. Minimum age requirement is 10 years old, and completion of a medical form is mandatory. Pregnant guests are ineligible, and a 12-hour surface interval is required before flying following a single dive.
